Yes, they truly are retarded like example these midterms the left want Trump to lose the midterms so bad. So apparently you want a madman to have no checks and balances because if he loses the midterms he has no reason for optics and no reason to hold back so he can go absolute scorched Earth with the power he does have because at this point who cares about optics and winning anything else. If you truly think Trump's a tyrant they better hope he does win the midterms.
 
If Trump nukes Iran, I would expect the left to use it as rationale for why the President shouldn't have full authority over the military and instead, military decisions should be entirely decided by congress. The left's ultimate goal is that all national armies are controlled by the UN. The left would consider Trump nuking Iran a win for their goals.
