Crashouts after Conservatives take BC

VANCOUVER — The Conservative Party of BC is projected to form a majority government after Saturday’s election, and the reaction videos started rolling in long before the last ballot box was counted.

Preliminary results showed the Conservatives leading or elected in roughly 64 of 93 seats, the NDP reduced to the high 20s, and the Greens holding two. NDP Leader David Eby conceded and offered his resignation as party leader in a sombre speech in Vancouver on Saturday evening.

Interim Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson, also in Vancouver, similarly addressed supporters as premier-designate following the early projection of a Conservative majority.

The clearest crash out of the night belonged to BC Green Party Leader Emily Lowan.

In her election-night address she told supporters she was “scared” of what a Conservative majority would mean — only days removed from Lowan not ruling out supporting the Conservatives should the Greens hold the balance of power in the legislature.

Lowan listed cuts to health care, child care and public services, plus attacks on "transgender people," indigenous communities and immigrants, without naming a specific Conservative commitment. She then said the Greens were “the only party who is equipped to stand against the Conservatives and their existence.”

Activist Fae Johnstone, who does not reside in British Columbia, posted a similarly vague warning hours after the results. “If the new BC government messes with queer people's freedom, safety and dignity, they will be met with resistance every step of the way,” the post read. Comments on the post were disabled.

View: https://x.com/FaeJohnstone/status/2114206370740220368?

A screenshot circulating afterward showed an earlier version of the same message that had since been deleted: “You dont want to mess with BC queers. They will fight you. Tooth and nail. So, to BC's new government, I have one message: F*ck around and find out.”

View: https://x.com/OhBoyItsKale/status/2114411979448426575?

Multiple responses to the now-deleted "f*ck around and find out" post regarded the comment as an explicit threat and tagged the RCMP and other policing authorities.

In terms of Lowan's vaguely threatening comments, Doerkson was asked about them the next day. He did not match the tone.

“Well, frankly, vulnerable people in this province have been at risk,” he said. “They’ve been at risk for the last decade. And we’ve seen that all over our province. I am very committed to trying to find, as I’ve said repeatedly, a better path forward for all British Columbians — and I am committed to providing support.”

Other reaction posts from the wider public leaned harder into the comedy of the 'crash out' video responses. Commentators framed the night as the left “melting down” over a result the polls had foreshadowed for weeks, hearkening back to reactions of US President Donald Trump's election night victory in 2016.

A compilation video collected several personal reactions to the Conservative majority, with speakers describing the result as a "terrible result for anyone who has read a book before."

View: https://x.com/FortySacks/status/2114493540625699103?

Federal NDP Leader Avi Lewis also commented on the result, having spent the campaign warning that a Conservative government would harm vulnerable people.

Lewis described Saturday night's election results as a "body blow."

View: https://x.com/avilewis/status/2114419691804578170?

Incidentally, Eby’s numbers began collapsing in the latter legs of his camaign, just as he began borrowing proposals from his federal counterpart, including a price-cap on grocery margins for staples.

Lewis, unlike Eby, won the federal leadership race earlier this year but has never won an electoral contest at any level of government.

The NDP party convention in Winnipeg earlier this year that saw Lewis become the party’s newest leader drew international ridicule, with viral clips of delegates arguing over colour-coded equity cards for speaking priority.

With the NDP now governing in only one province and having lost official party status in Ottawa, the party has seen a sharp drop in its overall influence in a short period.

Im about ten years passed watching dysgenic retards make tik tok reaction videos about how mad they are globohomo won again.

I want all these brown immigrants, drug addicts, queers and jews to just have all of Ontario and fuck the hell off.

I dream of a society not held back by these folks draining my life energy and wallet.

A whole generation of women grew up with their parents never saying no, their teachers never saying no, their boyfriends never saying no, their boss at work never saying no so when a government says no, you can't have that for free because it costs other people who you have no right taking from; they freak the fuck out. And the male liberals? Most of them are so buck broken after having been beat down by society, they believe their best course of action to improve their life is defending their very oppressors.

How about we don’t give these things a platform and just let them disappear into the void where they belong? This is the kind of shit that keeps the non stop crying and screaming going cos any attention is good attention to them… prtobably get paid handsomely too depending on what platform it is.

This is a huge victory and I encourage people in our sphere to savor it. BC was so far gone until very recently, that the Conservatives in power is like a minor miracle. Considering they will repeat SOGI, end DRIPA, and probably destroy the whole woke institutional bubble. Very, very encouraging. The amount of political violence and threats coming from unhinged leftists during this election was incredibly high. Go to your local reddit and you'll see some antifascist scum leaking slander and dox against your local candidates. It's a big deal and we should stop refusing to celebrate wins when they come to us

It was a protest vote, nothing more. It’s not like BC is suddenly all changed and based. And if you care to remember because I know most people don’t remember what happened yesterday… if you care to remember the coup that happened within the blue colored liberal party right before this election, then it becomes even more clear that this is nothing but a fuck you to the ndp, eby specifically and has nothing to do with British Columbians all of a sudden being based and conservative. Kinda like when Quebec voted in the ndp as a fuck you to the bloc. If the bc ndp had done a switcheroo like the liberals did with carnage, the cons would have lost. I would bet money on that.

I’m all for winning but a) I don’t believe in calling everything a win because I like the guy or party, I prefer to be realistic as depressing as it can be and b) I don’t believe you can win by voting. The kind of win the world needs does not come with voting. I think that train has left the station a long time ago… and then came back loaded with jeets and slave races.

@DistrictPlant

How does it show most in BC is not afraid of conservatives? What kinda retarded leap is that? It’s a protest vote, you vote for the party most likely to win which this time was the blue liberals since there were no actual liberals.

“So what?” It’s retarded to call it a “win” or anything but a protest vote cos the people here are just as dumb and elbows up as they were before. Ain’t nothing gonna happen or change imo. And I’m sure as hell not gonna run around yelling “this is so much better than the orange idjits!!!!!!!” unless I actually see something happen that’s positive which I won’t. That’s my opinion on the shitshow that is the year 2026.

@Squishybear

In 2021, many people, including me, voted for PPC in protest. And PPC got 0 seats. It has shown that most CPC voters are averse to the PPC brand. If PPC had won seats, would you have said “it’s just a protest vote, retards”?

Even in chess, when your opponent makes a stupid move (Eby) and you win (protest vote), it’s still a win.

Why are you so adamant on dooming and glooming.

@DistrictPlant it's not about dooming. Dooming is trying to push someone further into doom than reality. This is checking one's expectations. Nothing has changed. You aren't one election away from a blue wave where we fix society. Everyone is the same. There has been no awakening. No one has changed their beliefs on anything. This isn't dooming, it's reality checking. Sometimes people get a little too overly motivated and hopeful with these sorts of outcomes. Blue, red; it's all the same. Canada trucks along all the same. The cons will lower your taxes by $1000 and cut some expenses. The left will win in 5-10 years then undo it all. Nothing changes.

@DistrictPlant if you think we can incrementally get to where we need to go, you'll also be disappointed forever because you'll die before anything changes that matters.

And why are you being so black and white. The BC Con are politically equivalent to Obama beating Hilary for the nomination and you're celebrating as if that means anything. We don't need Hitler 2.0 but even a non judeo Trump would be a good change.

@CaptainTrouble You think I’m being black and white? What does that make you?

I’m not celebrating anything. I’m saying something slightly good happened, and we should acknowledge it is a good thing (even if it’s small), instead of spreading negativity and defeatism.

Also, it’s not equivalent. Hillary Clinton was actually moderately pro gun in 2008, for a Democrat. If Democrats nominated her instead of a cackling buffon Harris, it probably would have been a good thing for Democrats.

That’s besides the point. There is a bigger difference between CPBC and NDP. Since you don’t seem to care about taxes or deficits much, CPBC promised:
  • to repeal DRIPA
  • to repeal SOGI
  • to hire and deploy additional police

If they actually do all these things, it will be great. NDP would do exactly the opposite on all 3.

@DistrictPlant repealing liberal policies isn't winning. Implement conservative ones is. That's what I'm saying. The liberal get in and they steer the ship. Their maneuvering is so bad the ship almost sinks, so the conservatives get in and steady the ship but it's going in the same direction. That's not a win. A win is turning the ship around.

But I'll give you your win now. In 3 years, you'll be back to complaining again that everything is going to shit and nothing is improving. I'm just telling you now that was already foreseeable. It always it, every single time. I'm sure the conservatives thought they were winning in 1979 yet here we are. We're along the same liberal trajectory that is destroying this country no matter how many conservatives win, why? Because they don't change the fundamental liberal values that make up the core of this country. You didn't win, you got a momentary reprieve before things go to shit again. Don't mistake it for anything else.

@CaptainTrouble
repealing liberal policies isn't winning.

Yeah it is, what are you even talking about? Was overturning (repealing) Roe v Wade not a conservative win in your book?

I’m not under the delusion that the ship will immediately do 180. Expecting that is not realistic in the first place.

Maybe you’re right, and CPBC will not actually change anything. But neither will you with your dooming and glooming. Enjoy being demoralized.

@DistrictPlant I'm not dooming. I'm saying don't let your guard down. Now isn't the time to settle back down thinking you're winning. Now's the time to absolutely crush liberals so they're scared of leaving their house or they just all die. Change the culture so we genocide liberal ideology. Now's the time to double down not sit back and relax. Push harder. Where you see $1000 in tax cuts, I see $10,000. We shouldn't restraint ourselves. We should destroy our enemies. We should try to make society swing so far right by implementing the right policies to subvert the culture toward right wing values and beliefs that today's liberals are considered far right extremists and the NDP are literally Stalin and will be imprisoned for hate.

I want a BC Liberal party that's full of conservatives to get elected and then think they're winning because they raised taxed from 5% to 6% and implemented a law. Just implementing one law should be cause for immense celebration for liberals that they are winning and things are finally shifting their way.

It's not the win people think. Prior to the old leader being thrown out, most people in BC I talked to realized the NDP were bad but they didn't feel like they could commit to the Conservatives. By throwing out the conservative leader and putting in a life long liberal, the BC residents finally felt their voice would be heard. A liberal government.

Nothing has shifted in BC. There's no conservative wave. There's just no like for the NDP and no one else to vote for.

It's basically exactly what happened to PP and the conservatives. Up until Carney, it looked like the whole country was swept with a conservative wave because they hated Trudeau and the Liberals. Then Carney gets in and everyone votes liberal. That's all that happened in BC. NDP were hated, no Carney replacement for the NDP was chosen so people voted for the Liberal party masquerading as a conservative party.

Nearly everyone in Canada is liberal and BC people are some of the worst. Nothing has changed.

No. Something very significant has shifted in BC, and it's what I just said. SOGI and DRIPA and public drug use are out and that will stop the leftist institutional bullying campaign cold.

People forget that the leftist march of the past decade has been driven entirely by foot in the door and wedge tactics. They are and always have been the absolute minority of the population and an extremist fringe, which gained power through coalition and concern trolling with the liberal faction. The BC foothold is tenuous and will not be dramatic, but it represents a very refreshing rejection of the wokeshit ideology which has been completely demoralizing and degenerating BC. That's big, and we need to build the margin of victory to grow more and more until the leftist ideological vision is gradually snuffed out. The only thing these people are not good on is immigration and race, but I don't expect them to be. We can work within this framework and get wins, it's time to stop throwing these people under the bus and push the window away from leftist grooming. Consider this whole metapolitical cycle of the woke invasion is coming from institutional grooming, cynical career advancers who compromised, and the mass education disaster which was simply a bully pulpit. We can start attacking the factories which have been making these people

@Crayola I wonder too with the lower voter turnout if many NDP supporters did not vote?

I also think property rights were an issue too especially after that bullshit activist court ruling about that land in Richmond BC saying because an Injun took a poo there 500 years ago it is theirs.

Plus Ebay gave a lot of crown land as it was too to the injuns plus Eby allowed the injuns to shut down numerous provincial parks for weeks and months at a time so poor wittle injuns can practice traditional life aka poaching.

@Crayola I will give you that the whole private property issue with the natives really upset your average leftist. Most working leftists owe their whole life to real estate. They either work for a bank lending to real estate, are a realtor, a property manager, consreuction, etc... all tied to real estate. Or they own real estate. The idea of natives stealing all the real estate was the first time I've ever heard leftists talk negatively about natives. Also the older gen is starting to get sick of the "degeneracy". I've heard a lot of people talking bad about drugs and sexual promiscuity. It's not the win one would hope for though. The Sidney Sweeney situation is a prime example. The old hags who run our society cannot stand young pretty women using their looks to attract men in a manner men like. They only like female empowerment when women shave their head or dye theit hair blue and put a collar around the men. What's happening is that the power imbalance between men and women is closing such that men are starting to get a bit of a better deal because younger women can't get what they want anymore without giving men what they want so the hags want to stop women from giving men what they want and all of a sudden they're against partying and degeneracy now that these activities are favoring men instead of women.

Society won't heal until taxes are lowered and social programs are eliminated though. Charter of Rights needs to be eliminated.

@ayn_rands_ghost @CaptainTrouble
Time will tell if they can keep their mandate, but this election is clearly the bell ringing that the progressive stack has gone too far. So much of leftist power is derived from organized harassment and stalking campaigns, if we can move to repudiate this we'll actually be getting somewhere. I think as you are both keying, the insane native rights drive to steal land from the cities is what finally did the NDP in. But for most of their rule they've obviously been coasting off the inertia of incumbency and that may now shift hands. Woke was always deeply unpopular with core segments, and SOGI's trans and decriminalization may actually die for good as issues if they're kept out this election. People didn't really vote for these specific things, they voted to defeat trump or fascism or something equally stupid. This coalition stumbling is a really good sign that we may be able to sweep them from power completely. I would like to think the socialistas wing of young people is finally waking up to race marxism

@Crayola the left did go too far so they're dialing it back one step then driving ahead again in the same direction. It's called controlled opposition. You know who else says every week that the left has gone too far? Bill Maher. He's one of the closest men to Jesus for elbows up boomers. I know leftists, personally, who have told me among other things that White people had their time at the top, it's time for blacks and other race. Or, because men once oppressed women in the past, the young men today deserve to be oppressed until women catch up no matter how hard it is or how much harm it causes men. These people call themselves moderates and hate radical leftists or right-wingers, they think both are bad just like Bill Maher, who they adore, told them. They said the NDP needed to go from BC but they aren't sure about the Cons but better the Cons than the NDP. Why? Because cons are radical authoritarians but they're better than the NDP who have destroyed BC (last time, it was the liberals who destroyed BC).

Do you know what none and I mean none of these leftists have ever done? Admitted it's their values and beliefs that have destroyed BC. They haven't changed their views on anything.

Canada is trucking along liberally and nothing has changed. Look at the demographics, they've already won on that. Even if young White men are conservative, it doesn't matter because Indians will soon outnumber them.

Nothing has changed and nothing will change in Canada for a long time. A conservative party isn't a party that repeals some UN Native act. A conservative party is one that ends the consultation requirement, that abolished all GHG Emission regulations and immediately cuts all funding natives. A party that'll cut taxes by 50% not one that'll cut taxes by 2%. This is all just a controlled opposition. They give you hope, change a few things and society continues trucking along in a manner designed to destroy you.

@CaptainTrouble
Ah yes, the timeless Tselitiev tactic of trying to re-appropriate a talking point and redirect the narrative to serve his own lolbert agenda very few people are interested in. Anyways.

The Conservatives in BC are not controlled opposition. They may actually represent an entirely new axis of politics in BC. My feeling is that the woke states actually cannot last in the long run because their underlying sociocultural metrics are so bad.

We can look at the historical performance of the woke states since 2016 in retrospective now. Every single policy plank has been to the detriment of society and these things over time simply add up. The results are coming home now, and people simply don't want that brand any more.

So no, I'm not going to eat this gay demoralization bullshit and pretend we didn't win something here. Obviously we have, and the initial gains could very likely compound if this government sticks. And then it'll be like Gordon Campbell all over again and ten years will be gone before you even know it. I suspect everything vanquished is actually gone for good.

@Crayola

I suspect everything vanquished is actually gone for good.

Guys, we got them to repeal the mask mandate. We're winning!

That's all you sound like to me. Congrats on your win. I will continue to be a realist though. No one's life is changing so this is no different than NDP win. What's changing to benefit me or you? $1000 more on your taxes? Whooptie fucking dooda hindu saar yay.

Do you know what none and I mean none of these leftists have ever done? Admitted it's their values and beliefs that have destroyed BC. They haven't changed their views on anything.

While this is true for the leftist elite, some normies have woken up to how destructive NDP policies are. This is evidenced by the fact they won a solid majority.

A conservative party is one that ends the consultation requirement, that abolished all GHG Emission regulations and immediately cuts all funding natives.

Most of these are not provincial jurisdiction. CPBC did promise to build pipelines, increase LNG production and streamline permitting for resource projects. We shall see if they keep those promises.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha The Injuns have declared war if DRIPA is repealed... lol lol lol

However it sounds like the 'cons' are walking back revoking DRIPA. I guess they are scares of the un noble savages too like most politicians?

I am so so so sick of all this Indian bullshit and that goes for both feathers and the poo Indians....
