If you have enough money these day, you can purchase children. The common term for this is surrogacy.

It seems contradictory but if you want to adopt a child, there are tons of hoops to jump through including background checks and various interviews.
However, if you decide to use surrogacy, all you have to do is pay for the egg, sperm, and surrogate, and you have a legally protected way to create child no questions asked. The only limiting factor is cost.

CBC does the same thing. It's ironic that the tax payer funded media doesn't allow their owners (you'd think that would be the tax payers) to comment on their content. There has been a plague of this kind of stuff in various municipalities across Canada lately. Seems like the elites like showing they have power over the plebs by wasting money on things that make the resident's lives worse. And they find these ways of wasting money as property tax increases are easily outpacing inflation. Things like speed bumps on residential roads where there was never an issue with speed. Or implementing additional delays on lights turning green to make traffic even worse. It is very socialist of them. They are basically saying we are going to use the insane amounts of property tax you pay against you and there is nothing you can do about it.

They did this in my locale for school zones. It’s insanely slow. Every start of school year the cops do a blitz to ‘keep the community safe’ by ticketing moms coasting 20 over getting their kids to school. Thanks idiots. The only power I have over this was to not vote for any re-elects in the latest municipal election. We shall see Monday…
