Trump is expecting an apology. "No amount of subsidies" would apparently keep Cleveland-Cliffs (they already know) from layoffs at Stelco. Carney springs "medium duty truck" exemption at CUSMA walkout.

What does it all add up to? My guess? Ford at Oakville will never finish retooling and reopen (medium duty F350+ trucks, anyone?), Oshawa (gm Silverado HD) is not far behind. CAMI is toast. Brampton is already gone.

Auto manufacturing is toast in Canada, and the news from GM or Ford will break before Halloween.

That's my bet. American industry has given up on Carney ad the LIbs. They will write down their losses and move on.

Ford Oakville has shifts back and are building trucks slowly, I heard. What a racket the layoffs have been there. Everyone's been on unlimited EI for almost two years and with tops ups to make 80% of their wage.
