Multiple outlets reported that the federal Liberal caucus held a hastily arranged Monday call (MPs only, no staff) to discuss the future of Canada’s four largest airports—Toronto Pearson, Montréal-Trudeau, Calgary, and Vancouver.

Sources said the discussion focused on alternative ownership models, private investment, long-term concessions, and opening those airports to investors (including foreign ones). Some MPs on the call described it as being framed as a “fait accompli” and voiced alarm. The government had already flagged airport reforms and possible privatization in the 2025 budget and the spring economic update.
