B.C. boy bitten by rattlesnake his father picked up: 'We made a few mistakes'​

Landen Spittal, 15, has never been afraid of snakes. Dangling the occasional garter snake in front of his mom Andrea was always good for a jump-scare.

So last week, when his dad Colin picked up an interesting snake while the two were doing yard work at their home in Keremeos, he called Landen over to check it out. Landen leaned in and reached for the snake.

The bite was instant, on Landen’s hand. It was also potentially fatal.

Colin was holding a rattlesnake.

A few mistakes? You don't say.

When I saw the pic of the kid I thought he was Peter Parker from the first Spiderman movies 20 or so years ago... There is even a pic of said snake wrapped around his arm,

Now the family is speaking out in the hopes of helping raise awareness about snakes

Maybe if you lack such survival instincts, you should be wiped from the genepool.

In a totally unrelated suggestion, ban narcan.

Almost expected some sort of Asian since they by far have the most non existing survival instinct… then again it’s all fitting considering the downfall of the white man in general.
