Probably why his inner circle of Haldeman, Erlichman, Liddy, Colson, etc. had the stones to do what had to be done. Man, the Conservative talking heads on YouTube are so out of touch. They keep saying this is because of Trump, or that the U.S. should remove the tariffs. No it’s because Canadians are retarded have had tariffs in place for years on the US. Maybe Canada should remove theirs first. Canadians are culturally women. The fact that we had tariffs first never enters in to the thought process of most Canadians and if it does it's ok when we do is the only thought.
The Canadian reaction to tariffs is the political equivalent of a soccer player stubbing his toe yet throwing himself on the field spread eagle like a transvestite at a bus station.
It's ok for us to do but a crime against all humanity when you do it. Culturally dishonest even to themselves and always the victim no matter how many provocations they have been engaging in.

What you've described is something I've mentioned here before: as someone of Argentine background, the Liberal party is northern Peronism, and only now is Milei trying to undo nearly a century of that damage. We are absolutely on a similar course as Argentina after World War Two.

That's a worry I have too: finding myself at the end of my life at the mercy of a system incentivized to neglect and/or to exploit me (e.g. to deny me enough vital care that I'll be tempted to choose MAID as an escape). Perhaps it isn't a blessing to live too long
