Look Carney absolutely sucks and the taxes on gas is way too high but we can't bullshit hear a lot of this is because of Iran too. I had AI do a comparison updated one. This is gas in my old Hometown for $3.99 and was gas selling for in area I'm in now. So if the alien is right like always a stupid talking heads on X are not translating the US into Canadian dollars. It still sucks but it's not as bad as they portray so they can get clicks.
I had two AIs through the comparison.
If you're comparing everything in Canadian dollars, then:
U.S. gas: US$3.99 per U.S. gallon
Assuming 1 USD ≈ 1.38 CAD, that's about CA$5.51 per gallon.
Divide by 3.785 liters per gallon:
CA$5.51 ÷ 3.785 ≈ CA$1.46 per liter
So the comparison is:
U.S. equivalent: ≈ CA$1.46/L
Canada: CA$1.70/L
That means gas in Canada is about CA$0.24 per liter more expensive than the U.S. price you quoted, using that exchange rate.
≈ $1.48 CAD per litre
Here’s the conversion:
- US price: $3.99 USD per gallon
- 1 US gallon = 3.78541 litres → ≈ $1.054 USD per litre
- Current exchange rate: roughly 1 USD ≈ 1.40–1.405 CAD
So:
$1.054 × 1.4045 ≈ $1.48 CAD per litre
### Quick comparison
| Location | Price |
|----------------|--------------------|
| US (converted) |
$1.48 CAD/L |
| Canada |
$1.70 CAD/L |
Canadian gas is currently about
15% more expensive than the US price when both are expressed in Canadian dollars per litre.
