This woke an old memory in me, the first time I got a taste of left wing bullshit without knowing it. It was the 90's and I was in grade 7. The teacher brought in the TV with the VCR and put on a news report about the Oka crisis. After watching it I was annoyed that nothing happened to the indians who had shot and killed a cop, the military did nothing, the government gave in and the media lionized the indians. I blurted out loud "They're dumb". That was my take on it. The kid next to me turns out is an abbo, he freaked out. "TEACHER HE SAID THEY'RE DUMB!!! REEEEEEE REEEEE HE SAID THEY'RE DUMB", and I was forced to appologise to him. Never sat well with me. I now think the Oka crisis was a turning point where we as a country collectively gave into the demands of these grifters and agitators. The police don't do fuck all to stop them because they know politicians will never have their backs when they block roads and even terrorize entire neighborhoods.
