Weekly Surrey Shooting updates (Jul 20 - Jul 26) || Weekly count: 3 shootings || YTD: 68 shootings

SHOOTING -- (Shots fired at a trailer park)

...several police officers in what appears to be a trailer park. As well, images appear to show emergency responders with weapons drawn. Emergency vehicles can be seen outside a nearby hotel, and at least one helicopter was visible above the scene. It isn’t clear if the helicopter or emergency vehicles were related to the shots-fired report.

UPDATE - (One person injured)
RCMP members promptly responded to the scene and located a 32-year-old male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital in serious condition but is expected to survive.
Maple Ridge is only 15 minutes from Surrey

UPDATE -- (One person arrested)

The 44-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday, say police.
RCMP say that the man who was arrested was known to police.
The victim of the shooting continues to remain in hospital.
...he shooting came from an altercation between the suspect and victim, as they were known to each other.
 
SHOOTING -- (Police kill knife wielding man in North Vancouver)

...man with an edged weapon threatening the public inside a business.
...got into a vehicle and crashed into several parked vehicles
...police found him at a gas station at the mall.
...the man tried to get into an unoccupied police vehicle
...[officers] deploy a conducted energy weapon and fire shots.
...man later died at hospital, while no officers were hurt.
North Vancouver is a 45 minute drive from Surrey (on a good traffic day)

possible SHOOTING -- (Shots fired in rural area)

Mounties are currently on scene of a serious incident in the 11200 block of 287 Street, but haven’t revealed what it entails.
Maple Ridge again. Incidents are reported as unrelated. YTD table not updated for this report... yet.
