Trump tariffs more Canadian products

FAFOooooh yeah!

“Comes into effect in 30 days…”

Yawn

More specifically look what value-added manufacturing the USA has gained just this year with oil control:

Today we hear much evidence of the great cost all nations have paid for being convinced to become a service economy and offshore manufacturing. The USA never went to the extreme that Europe and Canada have in these directions and reversed course on energy policies from 2016-2020 and over the past year especially. The above chart captures how very valuable such energy policies are. We need to rebalance energy use regardless as fossil fuels are finite and how we currently use uranium is too limited. Energy rebalancing is in the offing. Now imagine how much better our performance would be had we never allowed ourselves to be knocked off balance. Imagine how much better off we could be had we never stopped building up rather than allowed epic disruption that has resulted in very costly building back.

TORONTO, July 7, 2026 /CNW/ - One year after manufacturers warned that U.S. tariffs posed an existential threat to their businesses, a new KPMG survey finds four in 10 manufacturers have moved production to the U.S. or are considering doing so as they adapt to ongoing trade uncertainty and mounting competitive pressures. The survey of 275 manufacturers finds that 57 per cent say they have paused, reduced, or cancelled capital expenditure projects due to economic uncertainty and trade and tariff threats, while 42 per cent have scaled back or paused research and development spending. More than half (52 per cent) say they are currently operating in "endurance mode." Do you know what the Republic of Alberta WON'T have? A ruling class in Ottawa working hard to destroy our businesses. Onward and upward. Four in 10 Canadian manufacturers have moved or plan to move production to the U.S., KPMG survey finds From newswire.ca

Earl Davis who is part of BMO’s asset management says when the U.S. does well, Canada does well. The U.S. is booming when it comes to small and medium sized businesses because many regulations that once held them back are being removed. Meanwhile in Canada small business growth all but ceases to exist. He says Canada is “constructive on growth, but it will lag significantly compared to the U.S. See

Europe and Canada are coming to terms with the fact that just following the herd very often is an expensive and painful proposition.

Registered Agents Inc., a business formation service provider, released its June 2026 business report. It found that the U.S. added 3,493,381 new businesses in the first six months of 2026, despite economic pressures and uncertainty in global markets.

The month of June alone showed an increase of 548,060 businesses. Small businesses always are the strongest new employers.

Courts will strike these down. They will order the tariffs returned and not a penny will go back to the consumer. Pretty much just a consumer funded cash giveaway with extra steps.

Not really trump can still do tariffs the court even said so. It was just a rule he used to do it that made it easier and quicker was the issue.

Also they have worked because a lot of companies have straight up said they're going back to the US or have gone back to the US because of the tariffs.

Ford was the only premier to provide an estimate for the economic impact of the tariffs: “What I understand, it’s $28 billion across the country.” Ontario will be hit the hardest, he added.
B.C.’s David Eby said he agreed with Ford about fighting back.

“There is not a chance in hell that U.S. alcohol is going back on a shelf in British Columbia. And I’m proud of that, and I know the British Columbians support that. And the idea of the president that he can bully us into whatever he wishes is incorrect.”

@the_pamplemoose I love the fact all Canada seems to have the fight with is fucking alcohol. That's fucking sad and says a lot about this country. I mean I'm not a holier than that about. drink if you want but maybe we shouldn't be promoting the fact we can only make money from addiction.

It's like a drug dealer boasting he helps the economy by selling drugs.

@the_pamplemoose yeah again I don't mind if people smoke weed but God damn do I hate weed culture. It's like the people who smoke can't shut the fuck up about it and I swear to God I cannot go anywhere without smelling that shit.

It's like can't you just vape that shit? It's cheaper. You get a better high and you don't smell it.

I mean myself I've never drank a bit of alcohol or tried weed my entire life, but it's like can you be a little bit respectful towards other people.

The funny thing is about the legal weed is they don't even make much money with all the taxes and regulations. Government can't even make money selling fucking drugs properly.

I know a few people who did it where I used to work one time and they said they don't even buy the legal stuff cuz it's weak so they still buy the illegal stuff.

I tell you Ford needs to shut the fuck up. He's nothing but a small little fucking fish compared to the US and especially Trump running his mouth. We're going to dismantle to a US and fight back. It's like dude you're not going to do fuck all and you can't.

He fucked up the deal they almost had last time but running his damn mouth and doing that TV ad.

The only plan that asshole Carney has is just wait out 3 years and push his climate bullshit.
