It's just part and parcel of living in a post modern nation. This is the new Canada. The Canada some of us remember is already gone.

I visited Toronto a couple years ago. It was a fucking dump and I will never go there again if I can help it.
 
15 years ago I was at university in Toronto and honestly it was a great time. I doubt it it would be the same today.
 
I agree, these places are not Canadian anymore. If you go to the downtown core spaces absolutely nothing would clue you in to them being a part of Canada
