Alberta spending $22M on school safety

The province says it will spend $22 million on measures to improve security at schools in the wake of the Tumbler Ridge shooting in B.C.

I am willing to bet that well armed parents would volunteer and do school security for free and it would cost nothing. 22 million seems like money laundering to me or a fook ton of security.

Sliding locking doors roughly every ten feet. Build new schools as such and it pretty much can't happen. Think of those old fire doors old apartments have but on steroids.

Added bonus of unless the perpetrator offs themselves they will be apprehended. Schools are damn near prisons anyway might as well drop the pretenses.

Being as nobody wants to address certain mental health and medication issues I figure it's an architecture and locksmith issue.

When I first moved to this neighbourhood over 10 years ago, almost all of my neighbours were Canadian. Now only 2 remain on my street and they are both over the age of 65.

There's no government policy or separation movement that will fix that.

In my neck of the woods, everything is still fine. My kids go to the same school as I did. One building for everything. Kindergarten to Grade 12. Around 10 to 15 children per class. Unlocked doors everywhere and the kids can even throw their bike on the lawn in front of the school and it will be there when they come out.
