Well they built the Titanic in 1909, how much would it cost to build it again? Not to mention the fact that after the program they trashed all the jigs, machines, etc. to build the Saturn V, if they wanted to build another one they would have had to start from less than zero, but I guess you're right, they should have been able to rebuild the whole program for a buck fifty in an afternoon, they had the technology, right?

Many of us have so much collective PTSD from the Covid era (and every other psyop before and since) that it's difficult to feel any trust or joy in any of the claimed achievements of governments. This is the kind of story that would have galvanized me with excitement when I was a teenager, but now I just think of the tremendous expense involved and how much easier it would be for them to pocket the money and digitally fake the whole thing

I don't care about this space launch or "moon landing" they plan on doing.

It is all bread and circus.

We have real problems that no one in the government wants to admit or deal with, so distract the masses for a bit.

In my teens, twenties or thirties I would have been blown away by this and beyond excited. Alas, no more.

I had the CTV live coverage running in the background and had to turn it off because the jeet anchorman's thick accent (I'm now on a US stream instead). I don't watch network TV, so on the few occasions I do see it I'm always surprised at much worse it's become

I wonder if they’ll call Trump from a landline this time while the American flag blows proudly in a zero gravity environment with stars, I mean no stars, but yes definitely stars were there, despite destroying the technology that brought them back there in the first place, and the van Allen radiation belts that will incinerate the people travelling through it, but actually not, because science. Don’t forget that the moon is in our atmosphere now so that’s not even a concern anymore I think.
