Convoy Fallout So I guess we're heading to the Supreme Court

Two months ago Alberta lawyer Blair Ector who was a founder of Loberg Ector LLP helped successfully defend the rights of military veteran Edward Cornell and retired police officer Vincent Gircys at Federal Court and Federal appeal. If I have the gist of the story, the Attorney General of Canada is now seeking (again) to appeal against Loberg Ector LLP's clients and other parties in supreme court. To argue that freezing bank accounts without a warrant and invoking the emergency (war measures) act was not a violation of Charter rights

What absolute fucking assholes. They lost fair and square it's not like they were in an activist Court which if that was the case I'd have no problem with an appeal. They're just mad they lost if I remember right one of the judges was a liberal supporter. It's not like anyone's going to go to jail over this.

If they win this one they'll pretend the other losses didn't even happen and this is a true outcome and everyone's guilty.

Interesting how the common man is never able to appeal decisions to higher and higher courts, but the government has no issue spending our money to appeal a decision all the way up until they find a friendly court.
