Will we mark Christian, Jewish feasts next, this writer wonders

Surrey is a diverse community with numerous faiths, religions and beliefs – if a public school chooses to accommodate and celebrate one faith, then they must do all – and if that’s the case then students would never learn as it would be an endless holiday.
There should be no religion of any kind in Surrey and B.C. public schools. Those who do want this can choose from the numerous faith-based schools that exist for this reason.

The news that Johnson Heights students get to “embrace” the Muslim Ramadan surely means that next year the Christian kids can observe Lent, joined by their Muslim schoolmates. And the Jewish kids can now observe Hanukkah.
Who knows, maybe we’ll even see “Christmas Concerts” return to displace the “Winter Festival” events so ubiquitous these days.
