When I was a student at U of T back in the 1990s I somehow made the acquaintance of a middle-aged Iranian woman who was just there to get a degree (i.e., not an immigrant). She told me that she was routinely monitored by agents of the Islamic Republic and expected to check in at the embassy (or consulate?) every now and again just so that they could make sure she wasn't up to any anti-regime activity.
So it's certainly true that such "agents" exist here in Canada -- although many dictatorships we're not at war with also have such representatives here, especially China -- but PP is being dishonest when he suggests that the Iranian government deliberately set out to kill Canadians: the shooting down of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 back in 2020 was almost certainly a fuckup on the part of the paranoid Revolutionary Guards just days after Trump had assassinated their Major General Soleimani, and in the interests of accuracy it should be noted that only 63 Canadians were on board, not more than a hundred. Note too that PP's designated goy-wrangler Melissa Lantsman is always in the background when he makes these kinds of announcements, which is not a coincidence
