CBC coming for active clubs

Questions are being raised after the CBC and political commentator Rachel Gilmore published articles on Canada’s “active club” movement on the same day, with both stories citing the involvement of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) and one drawing on an internal Public Safety Canada brief that has not yet been publicly released.

On March 3, CBC published a story by Eric Szeto that described “white nationalist fight clubs,” citing an internal Public Safety Canada brief warning that the movement poses a risk of “extreme violence” in Canada.

That same day, Gilmore published an article in The Tyee focusing on an active club in Montreal involving individuals tied to Second Sons Canada — a group that in the past has been accused of being “ethno-nationalists” and “neo-Nazis.”

Alexander Vriend, vice-president of Second Sons, says the timing of the articles and the limited public release of the government brief raise questions about how the story was developed and who had access to the information.

“I think the intention behind it was specifically only to give it to certain actors so that they could create the narrative that they wanted,” Vriend told the Western Standard, noting the CBC article said the outlet obtained the brief but did not specify how.

The CBC article stated that Public Safety Canada shared the brief with all levels of government and law enforcement and that it was prepared by the Canada Centre for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence.

The report is said to call the active clubs “ideologically motivated violent extremism that rationalizes violence against Jewish, racialized and 2SLGBTQ+ people.”
The piece also quoted CAHN executive director Evan Balgord, who said the report should prompt government action.

“White nationalism is the biggest threat it’s ever been,” Balgord said.

CAHN describes itself as an organization that monitors and counters hate groups across Canada.

However, a 2022 Ontario court decision in a libel suit involving journalist Jonathan Kay spotlighted the organization’s connections to Antifa.

Wiretap Media has reported that CAHN has received more than $900,000 in federal funding since 2020, including a $200,000 grant in October 2025 from Public Safety Canada’s Community Resilience Fund, administered through the Canada Centre for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence.

“You’re seeing all of these hate researchers combining into one big network,” Vriend said, suggesting the timing of the recent reporting could help create a call for additional funding.

“I think part of that is because the funding for anti-hate initiatives isn’t what it used to be… Part of what they’re doing right now is trying to create a mandate and justification for additional funding for these groups.”

The Second Sons vice-president said he believes the federal government or its partners selectively provided a summary of the report to outlets and researchers likely to reinforce a particular narrative.
Since both sides know there’s no voting ourselves out.

Martial arts practice is damn near a guarantee to turn people right wing.

Even a kids Karate class is babies first lesson in dictatorship and order.

Leftwing collectivism is totally incompatible with the mastery of self that comes through strenuous training.

One hour of something like Muay Thai, BJJ, Greco Roman wrestling before class starts and within one generation most of the problems Canada has will vanish.

The attitude of typical Canadians will literally be worked out of the youth.

Please also note any society that denies its warrior class will not exist after encountering a society that embraces them.

Well gym is a mandatory part of elementary school, so make martial arts training a mandatory part of gym.

PrObAblY ToO DaNgErOuS and some parents would complain and if kid got hurt they would sue.

It should be added to PE class in my opinion.

Do kids even still play dodgeball these days or climb rope with a half inch blue mat that will save your life if you fall?

What crimes have they committed?

What really pisses off the regime is the signage ops.

The government Canada funds the lying press, to work with their sock puppets which they fund in Anti-white (excuse me, hate), to dox and intimidate peaceful protestors who disagree with their politics. And all of this is facilitated by CSIS and the RCMP, who recruit people in these agencies as agents to run while giving them access to classified intelligence.

What does this sound like? Oh right, a soviet client state like East Germany.

The government of Canada is not a democracy. It is a hybrid dictatorship which hides behind the fig leaf of elections they rig to create such powerful social change that their opponents can never hope to win by politics. And then they turn around and drum up the threat of revolution and violence because they know they have made it impossible for political change to happen in the country. So they can fund more secret police gang-stalkers like CSIS to repress peaceful political change and channelize it into terrorism.

Fuck the mutated bastard they call the Federation. Fuck the Government of Ottawa, fuck the lie of liberal values, fuck the lie of representation, fuck the concept that we are a unified country anymore. We're not.

We Canadians need to create a new and sovereign nation that better represents our polity. The GOC no longer stands for the Canadian people, it stands for a caste system of diversity hires and immigrants who wants to physically replace us. The 51st state is our inevitable destiny, because there is no political solution for the Canadian people within the federation. Stop playing games, we have the mandate to leave because 30% of the country fought back to the abuse during covid. End the federation, do it now!

Wow! Well said. I couldn't agree more.

Every time I see names of organizations like this, the first thing that pops into my head is to think that their actual mission is the exact opposite of what the name portrays. It never ceases to amaze me at the sheer number, world wide, of organizations that use names that would make a person think that they are a benevolent entity when, in fact they are usually quite malevolent. And, likely, money laundering, as well. It also infuriates me to know that our tax dollars prop these fuckers up.
