Does the heart good to see those losers fail.

As of February 2026, there have been 26 recall petitions officially filed and approved against Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Alberta. This wave of filings represents roughly 30% of the total 87 seats in the legislature.

Status of Current Recall Petitions
Political Breakdown: Of the 26 petitions, 24 target UCP MLAs (including Premier Danielle Smith) and 2 target NDP MLAs.
Failed Attempts: Several high-profile petitions have already fallen short of the required signatures:
The petition against Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides gathered roughly 6,500 signatures, far below the required 16,006.
The petition against Nolan Dyck gathered just over 1,000 signatures, failing to reach the ~10,000 needed.
A petition against Nolan Dyck (second attempt) and another against Muhammad Yaseen have also been reported as unsuccessful or withdrawn.
Upcoming Deadlines: All active campaigns are expected to conclude by late March 2026, with final deadlines for MLAs like Justin Wright, Ron Wiebe, and Peggy Wright set for March 23.
