Officials with a southern Alberta junior hockey team have announced the deaths of three players in a Monday crash.

Athletes spend more time on the road in large vehicles than almost anyone else, so they're more likely to be involved in these kinds of accidents. It's that simple.

According to the RCMP the semi was travelling North on Highway 2 while the car with the kids was crossing it, travelling to the East.
