This angle won't work - Quebec separatists cannot be traitors, because they have already been recognized as a 'distinct nation' just like Natives.

In 2006, Prime Minister Stephen Harper stated that "the Québécois form a nation within a united Canada," recognizing Quebec's unique cultural identity while affirming its place in Canada. This motion was passed by the House of Commons with overwhelming support.

If Quebec wants to leave, you can shit on the idea, call it 'un-Canadian' but even the HoC has affirmed that they are Quebecers first and foremost. The feds could have repudiated this claim, but I am sure money greased the right palms.
