The president of the BC Association of Chiefs of Police says people will not be arrested for possession of small amounts of drugs after the end of decriminalization on Jan. 31
He says people should not expect to see “a marked difference in what’s happening out on the streets.”
...representatives from his association as well as the provincial ministries of health, and public safety and solicitor general have been developing protocols that are not yet publicly available but will be rolled out to all police agencies across the province before the end of the month.

Decades before Marijuana was legal they very very very rarely enforced the law against it. Many stores were up but city took their cut so I guess it was ok and now a number of stores that sell Mushrooms and even lsd and peyote and not shut down. They also let that night time drug shop thing at Robson square go on for years and make a token bust here and there and shut it down once but it re opened next day. I do not think they even go after crack or fentanyl dealers in Vancouver despite so much public use.

Just take a bus along Hastings or Granville etc to see endless druggies and pray they do not get on bus either. Seen some fucked up shit from them over the years..

Makes me wonder if police and local politicians are not on the take?

Wonder if these same cops will refuse to go along with the Liberal gun grab?

Here's some more evidence of cops ignoring crimes
...months of apparent inaction, despite providing police with ample evidence.

Despite doing their own investigation and providing the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) with security footage, the owners say they were met with a lack of action from police.

“On Day 1 we figured out who this individual was, and we provided that information to the cops, and it was a cut-and-dried, slam-dunk, gift-wrapped case. They could have arrested him. To this day, I don’t think this individual knows that we know he did this. I don’t think the cops have ever followed up on him. He could still be doing — he probably still is doing this.”
