Apparently their was an arson at a business early Sunday morning that may or may not be related to extortion. I know it is not a shooting but Surrey seems bonkers...

There was an arson, but I didn't see or hear anywhere that it was extortion-related

The worst part is the growing right-wing rhetoric in the community asking for more gun licences to the public for self-protection.

No, the worst part is the unnecessary deaths caused by foreign criminals and terrorists. Also, what's wrong with right-wing rhetoric?

This would be like following our neighbours on south of the border where gun violence has become a norm.

Right, because gun violence is totally NOT the norm up here.... listen up asshole - the police will only show up to put the victims in a body bag. They won't arrive in time to stop shit. If we were armed, they might think twice before starting some shit, you understand? (You don't understand because you shit outside like an animal)

So let’s not fall into the trap of those asking for gun rights, and rather strengthen our police system alongside keeping a check on the increasing foreign interference in Canada.

You are NOT a Canadian Gurpreet. Maybe the solution is to 'return to sender'

Emergencies Act incoming? Compare the extortionists to the FLQ...

Crisis? No crisis?
archived: https://archive.today/AygOD
Recently, RCMP Assistant Commissioner John Brewer, [said] “is not a crisis. It is a public safety” issue.
Which immediately caused eye rolls and a reaction from B.C. Premier David Eby for Brewer to either smarten up or step down as head of the task force. Which in turn caused Brewer to say that’s not what he meant. Which in turn caused the words “Surrey,” “crime” and especially “CRISIS” to be repeated ad nauseum nationally and internationally in the news and social media.

So, do we want a Trumpian solution by sending in masked and armed federal officers to bullyboy and shoot citizens on the street in search of “illegals” labelled with Trump’s nefarious and scary labels?
This new TDS variant is quite infectious. These libtards should quarantine at home, and disconnect for awhile.

The problem with this policing of language is that the word "crisis" is subjective to a certain degree. We saw this recently in Nova Scotia when the Premier said that "intimate partner violence" is not an "epidemic", and was roundly castigated for his remarks even though 1) the word "epidemic" is normally used to refer to disease and 2) especially when used in a metaphorical sense it has no objective definition.

Now clearly extortion in Surrey is a really big fucking problem, but they'd be better off just agreeing on that than quibbling over the precise meaning of words that don't actually have any precise meanings

We see loose wordplay for their own usecases but constricted usecases when the dont like your own use of words. Example of their loose usecases would be interim Ottawa Police Chief Steve Bell using a marxist definition of 'violence' (community percieved violence) to justify the use of actual violence by the state against peaceful protestors during the convoy.

Cops and politicians will meet in Surrey in 2 weeks.
archived: https://archive.today/RVE1n
Top cops from B.C., Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario will meet in Surrey in the next couple of weeks to discuss the ongoing extortion crisis, close any information gaps, and ensure police have the resources they need to tackle it, Premier David Eby said.

The premier, the federal public safety minister, and the prime minister agreed to hold a meeting with top police officers from the four provinces affected by extortion within the next two weeks.

In addition to the meeting, the federal government agreed to deploy up to 20 federal RCMP members from the CFSEU gang task force.
Nothing says "emergency" and "crisis" and "epidemic" better than taking 2 weeks to schedule a meeting
(If only there was a way to have a digital meeting with webcams, they could have this meeting with the hour. Hopefully, some indigenous or POC invents this one day.)

PSA - still no extra cops visible on the ground, yet; no extra helicopter overhead

Apparently, the helicopters have been deployed. But police services are unsure on how to use them.

The BC RCMP operates the Lower Mainland urban patrol, which includes Air 1 and 2 and provides regular support to local RCMP detachments and municipal police departments in the area.

...a more dedicated, consistent deployment of a helicopter on specific days to support our proactive efforts to deter gun violence associated with extortions,” MacDonald said Wednesday. “We have not yet received a response to this specific request.”

“Discussions are ongoing...

Mayoral candidate Annis has a plan. And it sounds almost based.

“If we do not have a safe city, absolutely nothing else matters,” she said.

...police should be able to lay charges as do Crown lawyers, like in other parts of Canada and reiterated her positions that police should have real-time access to the city’s 600-plus traffic cameras and 300 more police should be hired over four years...

...police roadside checks “that blanket high-risk areas, particularly overnight, made possible with more officers. Immediate helicopter access, and longer term, a dedicated SPS helicopter. Deeper screening by Ottawa of foreign students, temporary workers and anyone applying for an extended visa to Canada. Immediate deportation of any non-Canadian involved in extortion, related shootings or gangs, with no opportunity to hide behind a claim for refugee status.”

“Coming to Canada is a privilege, not a right,” she noted. “We need better and deeper screening, we need to know who’s entering our country. Unfortunately, too many people mistake our politeness and hospitality for weakness, and think nothing of ignoring our laws and visa restrictions. We have to show them we’re serious.”

What’s equally worrisome is that the situation is being classified as a South Asian community problem.
This is not a South Asian problem, but rather a Canadian one.
Do not make the mistake of thinking this is solely a South Asian community problem.

Canada one of the safest countries in the world? Well maybe for now but that is changing with all the low class trash were bringing in. Sweden was the safest country at one time until they brought in the garbage.

Most White countries used to be very safe until the floodgates to the third world were open and now were becoming like the shitholes they came from. Shithole countries produce shithole people and that is why those countries are shitholes.

This is also a south Asian well Indian problem not a Canadian one. Not old stock doing this but the jeets.

Politicians, media, boards of trade just do not want to admit the fact these invaders are the problem. Yet if it was old stock doing this would be even bigger news..... These people hate Whites with a passion and that is why the jab too about it being a Canadian problem not an Indian one.
