You: "Do you think Trump will really make Canada a 51st state"
Yes. What does it mean? The 51st State may simply be an umbrella term for now. It's catchy, good branding. We might wind up losing 'Canada' while keeping all our provinces and territories intact. Maybe they'll be combined into just a few regions, I have no idea. The 51st State is the simple description Trump likes to use to make his point.
Trump has repeatedly said that Canada 'only works as a State'. I have so many examples, here's a taste from last year:

As a state, it would be one of the great states... anywhere, this would be the most incredible country visually. If you look at a map, they drew an artificial line right through it between Canada and the US -- just an artificial straight line.
