Predictions of if/when China claims Taiwan by force?

Regional reporting and analysis have framed the drill as a warning shot aimed not only at Taipei but at the alliance architecture around it—especially as Japanese leaders and planners speak more openly about a “Taiwan contingency” and expand defense spending and capabilities that Beijing portrays as destabilizing.

A third is the longer arc Beijing itself has helped set.

U.S. officials have repeatedly stated their assessment that Xi Jinping has directed the PLA to be capable of taking Taiwan by force by 2027—a milestone that continues to shape planning assumptions across the region.

The article makes it sound like the U.S. and Japan are preparing for 2027.

Or alternatively when the economy hits the shitter in China.

How about this title:

Predictions of if/when China claims Canada by force?

Not anytime soon. It still import majority of its food from NATO countries it will be death wish if they ever invade Taiwan.

They are going to continue with economic encirclement of Taiwan.

Yeah, it's not China's style to be outright aggressive, they are smart enough to know that warfare is too costly these days with limited return. They prefer economic conquest.

I don't see it taken by force. Most likely they will jew Taiwan right out from under their feet. There will be lots of posturing and red lines mind you.

I figure China wants more clay than just Taiwan so doesn't want to bee seen as acting aggressively until more powerful. They want to replace America as global hegemon and being viewed as wild attack dogs is counter productive when trying to contrast with American power.

Should they take Taiwan by force I expect them to stage some kind of false flag to justify it.
