Was in Indigo Chapters to find books for my kids. Got recommended a staff pick Scarlet Morning. It looked ok but then i thought i better ask about the gay. Turns out its very gay. I asked for non gay books and they got mad at me and wouldnt help me no more. I hate Indigo Chapters a ton now and so should all of you. You have been informed and warned.
N.D. Stevenson's new illustrated novel, Scarlet Morning, features prominent LGBTQ+ themes and characters, continuing Stevenson's pattern of inclusive storytelling established in Nimona, with reviews highlighting various LGBTQ+ lifestyles and complex relationships, including queer characters exploring romance and identity within the adventure narrative.
Key LGBTQ+ Elements in Scarlet Morning
- Queer Characters & Relationships: The story includes characters exploring different sexual orientations and relationships, with discussions and portrayals of LGBTQ+ dynamics.
- Part of Stevenson's Work: As the creator of Nimona, N.D. Stevenson is known for weaving queer representation into fantasy, and Scarlet Morning carries this tradition forward.
- Themes: Beyond just characters, the book tackles themes of identity and belonging, common in queer narratives, within its adventurous plot.
