Dodgers win

Professional sports aren't really sports, tho. They're entertainment companies.
These championship matches (in any "professional" sport) always push "the current thing"
As soon as Trump made a deal with Japan, and the Dodgers had a Japanese superstar on the team, I already knew the outcome.
Once you know what to look for, you see it all the time. It's just all so tiresome.
I really should do sports betting.

Well, the Jays played objectively better pretty much the entire series but somehow still went on to a soul crushing loss in the 11th inning of game seven, so I think it means fate hates us or something's rigged / somebody's on the take. But I'm naturally inclined to conspiratorial thinking. I'm not a diehard baseball fan and I get that the team is basically all American anyhow, but I'm still disappointed and sad.

Rogers Sportsnet outages at crucial moments was symbolic, an ironic foreshadowing of the series' outcome.

It's too bad for Canadians that their team of American and Caribbean players (oh and one "Canadian") couldn't beat the Dodgers :D

If you think about it though, isn't this case for sports in general? How many Edmonton Oilers are from Edmonton? Or Toronto Raptors from Toronto? You could say Japan won the world series.

@censorthisss And the one "Canadian" player is not even Canadian.
He was born in Montreal, to Dominican parents.
and then as a literal infant baby, not even 1 year old, his parents separated and he moved back to Dominican Republic, and then 20 years later was scouted by the MLB and came to Canada to play for the Blue Jays.

So how the fuck is that Canadian? He was born here but then spent his entire life growing up in the Dominican Republic and he can't even speak English or French.

well being as one player on the team is cdn not much. I don't give a shit about this stuff but get fucked cdns.

You're on a Canadian forum. Feel free to leave anytime

@TOPDAWG: "Get fucked cdns" is a semi-illiterate expression of contempt for all Canadians, not just the ones whose opinions you disagree with. By implication it includes every Canadian on FCW. If you hate the people in this country then kindly fuck off back to the States or wherever you originally come from -- you're no better than a jeet in Brampton who talks incessantly about how shit Canada is compared to his glorious homeland

@Hirudinea Yeah, Canadians must learn they'll lose at everything from trade to baseball, even as a country. No bullshit pretending to be patriotic over a baseball game. Canadians need to pay attention to important shit and what's really going on. Until they do, I want them to lose at everything.

@ChevChelios you got to admit something is shit to fix it. would if happy your feelings if I said fuck at the very least %50 of cdns? this is why we will lose you still think being cdns means anything? You hold into this false hope you're not going to be put up to the wall and you'll be there saying well at least I'm a true cdns.

@TOPDAWG

Shit does have to be fixed but constantly beating someone down will not help lift them up, a little hope can be helpful. Just imagine that after getting all patriotic over the jays and then they're told they're racist colonizer pieces of shit? I think we can use that feeling of pride in Canada and then having it slapped down to our advantage. Make people realize they don't have to apologize for being Canadian, then maybe they will be more open to seeing how Canada is having the shit beaten out of it and might, just might, realize they don't like it.

Well you obviously "don't give a shit about this stuff" because if you'd seen the games you'd know that the better team really did lose. Whether they got robbed, fates intervened, or a fucking voodoo spell was cast on them, I'm not quite sure, but It was absolutely crazy to see, and watching everything unravel for them was a truly pitiful sight to behold.

Notice how when you see a crowd of Jays fans it's mostly all white people?
What about the liberal multiculturalism? Where are all the Indians and Muslims I thought they're Canadian just like us?

Seeing a crowd of Jays fans looks like going back 20 years ago in Canadian demographics.
the very next day you could walk down this street and just see 80% non-white immigrants.

If I didn't know anything about Toronto I would assume judging by the Jays attendance the city was 99% white.
