Women's rights are a luxury. Like gay rights they are actually a series of privileges as soon as it deviates from being covered by basic human rights.
Only a society that has ascended the basic hierarchy of needs can even consider these ideas. These ideas signal the high water mark of your society as things of actual importance go by the wayside to cater to the narcissism of various groups.
Nothing disgusts me more than hearing anybody complain about the "plight" of the modern Canadian woman. Never had there been a group so privileged that beats the drums of oppression so loudly.
