One observation though - as outraged as the homeowner was, he wasn't very articulate with his grilling.
If the city told me that my home was being offered up as a sacrifice to the natives i definitely would be asking questions like:
- How many residents were consulted on this potential action while this court case was ongoing? If the number is higher than zero, are you able to provide documentation that this actually occurred?
- If the answer is zero, then why weren't homeowners consulted? ( i know he touched on this, but you can't just say 'why didn't you tell us sooner') They need to hold his feet to the fire and get them to divulge the reason for not informing homeowners. (We know the reason is cowardice)
- Considering that homeowners are property owning taxpayers of the City of Richmond, would that not mean that the City has an obligation to their citizens to represent their interests? Why was the city silent on this issue? Did the City of Richmond perform their best due diligence to represent them? (obv. no)
- Considering the city was negligent on not informing homeowners in a reasonable manner (or at all) what recompense will the City offer to affected residents? I would recommend getting the other affected residents together to sue the City for negligence.
There's no point in going after the courts or the Natives IMO - if i was an affected resident I would be looking to the City of Richmond to get my home's financial value returned to me, even if its at the expense of other taxpayers. They elected that shithead after all.
They might have to cancel Chinese New Year for a couple years to clear budget space, big whoop.
