According to Mark Mitchell, a Rasmussen Reports survey that will soon be released will show that only 48 percent of U.S. adults under the age of 30 currently have a full-time job…

Grok’s answer for Canada:

Based on the latest available data from Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey (as of August 2025, the most recent monthly release), approximately 45% of Canadians aged 15–30 have a full-time job. This is a weighted estimate combining data for youth (15–24) and young adults (25–29), as 30 is included in the 25–34 group but represents a small portion (about 8% of the 15–30 population).
That sounds bad for a social welfare nation.

In the Canadian numbers the 15 to 17 year olds are also included. They probably drag down the average. Would be surprised if more than 1% of those have a full-time job.

That is also very stupid. I was working full time by the time I was in Grade 12. i only had classes until noon.

@Squishybear That is a factor, I won't deny that. However, speaking anecdotally - a friend of mine has a 16 yr old daughter who was offered a job at Subcontinental Tire. She wasn't very excited about minimum wage so she told them she would think about it. When she changed her mind and called back the next day, the position had been filled.

When you are a teenager living at home you have the MOST job flexibility - you don't have to support yourself and you can get work experience. It only gets harder as you get older.
