They did nothing wrong

unreal that additional conditions are being imposed. You only thought the process is the penalty.

They will appeal and win if they should do so that is

Pat King is doing so

I wonder if the white hats knew this was the moves they might make and were always ready to counter

Some say its still a win but if allowed it sets a precedent and therefore the only way forward is to keep pushing back on these ridiculous conditions and the ruling

Lich and Barber both receive conditional sentences, strict restrictions following Freedom Convoy trial

Freedom Convoy organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber have both received conditional sentences in an Ottawa courtroom today.

Lich was sentenced to 15-and-a-half months, with the first 12 months being under house arrest and three-and-a-half months under curfew, along with 100 hours of community service.

Barber received an 18-month sentence to be served in the community, with a concurrent three-month sentence for counselling disobedience of a court order.

He was also sentenced to 100 hours of community service.

The court also imposed a victim surcharge of $400 on Lich and $200 on Barber, with 60 days to pay.

After sentencing, both defendants received standing ovations from the gallery.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) who has funded the legal defence of Barber since 2022 said in a statement that, “Chris Barber and Tamara Lich should not have been convicted of criminal mischief in the first place.

"Not only was their cause noble, calling upon Ottawa to recognize the fundamental rights and freedoms of all Canadians during this country’s darkest chapter, but Chris and Tamara pursued their cause in a peaceful, cooperative, and respectful manner.”

The Crown had originally been seeking “unprecedented custodial sentences” of seven years for Lich and eight years for Barber — who was also previously found guilty of counselling others to disobey a court order.

Lich and Barber were previously found guilty of mischief in April for their roles in the 2022 protest that gridlocked downtown Ottawa for several weeks as protesters rallied against COVID-19 restrictions.

Presiding Justice Heather Perkins-McVey said both of the accused consistently emphasized peacefulness during the protest, saying there was “no evidence that either called for violence against people or property and, in fact, asked for anyone like that to be reported to police.”

So they’re still basically jailed, just in their own homes? That’s still complete bullshit. You’ve got the “Free Palestine” idiots blocking roads all over the place and crying about something that’s not even happening in Canada and nothing happens to them. But the people who actually stood up, changed Canada for the better, and helped end the lockdowns are treated like criminals and stuck under house arrest?

I'm not taking this well it's not as bad as it could be as a win I'm sure some people are saying fuck that BS and fuck Canada. I hope trump fucking destroys Canada today.

Lawrence and I discussed remorse in a meeting at his office prior to our sentencing hearing in July. I told him I would not, and could not, express remorse as it would be dishonest and disingenuous.
To whom shall I apologize? The thousands of Canadians who stopped planning to take their own lives when the convoy started? To the thousands of Canadians who were able to return to their jobs? Or should I apologize to all the Canadians who can kiss their dying loved ones or have their families over for Thanksgiving?
There is no doubt some citizens of Ottawa felt afraid, threatened and terrorized. How could they not when their mayor and politicians were labelling us as an angry mob coming to overthrow the government before we even left Alberta?
Do I feel bad for these people? Of course I do. I wish no ill will upon anyone. However, it was their very own leaders who lied to them and misled them. There are citizens in Ottawa genuinely afraid of working class Canadians, who had never met a trucker or an oil patch worker.
I told Lawrence that day that I’ll serve 100 years in prison before I will ever apologize.

My family and I owe these brave souls our very lives. We are in debt to them and will always be happy to pay forward what they kindly did for us

My children are so very grateful daily to be pure bloods and to be able to have children in the future that wont be vaxxed either
