Federal programs to have immigrant health care workers fill nursing shortages showed “mixed” results, says new Department of Immigration data. Figures indicate a quarter of immigrants let into Canada as prospective nurses were not hired: “This study reveals a mixed picture.”

Back when the immigrants were from Bosnia and Serbia I used to get my pizza delivered by a guy who was a heart surgeon in his own country.

Point is for all the skills they tell us these people have the ability to freely practice those skills is another matter entirely.

I would just assume anybody in the last 15 or so years was totally full of shit unless proven otherwise.

It used to be pretty common that we would not blindly trust foreign credentials for things as important as healthcare. I used to work with a dude back in like 2006 who brought some goblina here from Mexico who was a doctor there. She ended up working at some customer service place because we wouldn’t even let her be a nurse here without doing the full education and testing.

Now we just don’t give a fuck. The degree could be hand written in crayon and we would let them in.
