YIKES so Ontario banned US alcohol in liquor stores, AND NOW Crown Royal bottler is closing down its Ontario plant and moving operations to USA

So apparently they’re moving US production to the us and keeping Canada production in Canada.

Wonder why that may be.

Either way Canada lost jobs again. Good job Canada. Bellies up!

Yeah the thread premise doesn't make sense.

The Bottling plant in Ontario produced product for US distribution. That shuts down, 160 jobs gone. It only makes sense from a logistical standpoint.

Crown Royal will still continue to be bottled and sold in Canada via Quebec.

Crown Royal is a Canadian product, always has been.
It's not an imported product, an Ontario ban on imports has zero effect on Crown Royal sales in Canada.

I could be mistaken but, I think it's bottled in Gimli, Manitoba. Maybe there is a plant in Quebec but, the origins are from Gimli.

who would want to do business in this shithole? too expensive and govt swoops in to eat up profits via tax and red tape.

How long before they go after the lemonade stands?

I see a lot of those around

Dont worry all PP will have the answer if elected because what people really need is hOooooOoooooomes and who cares about anything else

Apparently there's literally a giant warehouse, or warehouses out there right now stocked up with American alcohol. They didn't sell it off and they didn't send it back, it's just setting there.
