Bick’s in a pickle

With patriotism surging amid trade tensions, many shoppers are opting to buy Canadian, but there could also be unintended consequences for a company such as Bick's, according to experts.

"If buy Canadian means that people aren't buying Bick's, as an example, then Bick's is buying fewer cucumbers from Canadian producers. Then that buy Canadian is sort of coming back to bite, pardon the pun, the Canadian farmers," said food economist Mike von Massow from the University of Guelph.

Another victim of retarded counter tariffs. There are not many pickle brands on the shelves of Canadian grocery stores.

Wouldn't the other pickle makes need to source more cucumbers for the increased demand?

@Nink oversized zuchinnis over a foot long and 6 inches thick?

I took some to work once and none of the guys took em. Only females with purple hair and the large ladies that get ignored on Tinder. I wonder what they used em for other then cooking. Maybe they cooked with em but i doubt it

border_humperToo bad. They used to make them in a plant in east toronto where they were actually founded.
Bought out by Americans which i think at some point the pickles were made in India. Anyway, I dont actually care for them.

Bick's are not the best, many of their products contain harmful chemicals like Tartrazine(Yellow 5).

If you want quality pickles, go to the farmer's market and actually support local. Rather than throwing more money at a Mega Corporation that poisons people.

This gives a person who is business minded an idea. Right now ppl have backyard gardens correct. In those gardens are most likely cuccumbers and dill as well as garlic possibly? Night time raid ppls yards for these things. During day get canning suppplies. Make pickles and sell to grocery stores. Call your company something mocking ordinary garden growing city folk like City Organic Pickle Co. And ????? Profit!

I actually like the walmart brand the Great Value mini dill pickles the best.

pickles already cost too much unless you are buying shit made in india, and even then. lets just jack them up 25% more, because, fuck you guys, thats why.

i suppose i could just do my own, but its too hot for me canning shit, so i'll stick to pickled beets, which i tend to do in the cooler months anyway. i really do need a summer kitchen.

How many people even realize that most packaging and shit comes from the United States and Mexico?

Literally all the gable cartons and uht paper, lids etc in our plant are made in usa. Not counting chemicals, ingredients, machinery… even most of the support workers from like tetra come over from the us.

So idjits are enjoying their “made in Canada” product wrapped in and made with all American goodness.

I really didn’t want idiocracy to be real.

Oh also, the same UHT product goes into different papers. So your cheap local brand is the same as some super gold standard shit etc. for example… lol.
