U.S.-based Christian musician who is facing mounting opposition as he starts his Canadian tour is set to perform at the West Kelowna Memorial Park amphitheatre next month.

Sean Feucht— who describes himself as a missionary, author and activist— is known for sharing his takes on "gender ideology," abortion and the LGBTQ+ community. He is set for a performance at the city-owned venue Aug. 23.

Citing complaints from residents and planned protests that could affect public safety, officials in Nova Scotia, P.E.I., and Quebec have already cancelled his concerts. Concern is now building in West Kelowna as letters expressing opposition to the performance make their way to the city and news desks.

"As a resident of Kelowna/West Kelowna I ask you to stop this Sean Feucht and the White Christian Nationalist non inclusive fear mongering event he is hosting in our area," a letter writer going by the name Dalaun K said.

"With Parks Canada cancelling several of his venues out east we ask you to push to cancel this in our area. We do not need this kind of hatred spread in our area, province or country."

In a statement, City of West Kelowna staff said they are looking into the private booking which is "not endorsed by the city, nor (does the booking) represent the views of the city."

"In light of the safety concerns identified at the shows scheduled in Eastern Canada, staff are reviewing the safety considerations of this event," West Kelowna representatives said.

"While we understand that some bookings may draw more attention than others, the city must follow fair and equitable procedures and we cannot prohibit or cancel a booking because the views of the artist do not align with the views of the City of West Kelowna or members within our community."

Feucht is aware of the building pressure and took to his social media to ask for his supporters to help him finish his tour.

"We're on the eastern gate of the nation, and tonight we kick off the Let Us Worship 11 city Canada tour," Feucht said.

I wouldn't have ever heard of this guy. Now I'll probably support him. I want to hear him live. See what all the fuss is about.

Plus I want to see the mutants/demons go wild.
 
MAGA baby!

I am all for a strong USA founded and maintained on Christ and Christian values.

USA is back and i am loving every minute of it. Imagine if anything happens to this band what the USA will do. Best Canada and Antifa behave as i am sure they are watching

More importantly i know the guy in the sky is watching and i would fear him even more.
