Americans have no idea how lucky -- nay, blessed -- we are to have a robust Second Amendment. Despite the best efforts of tyrannical Leftists over the decade, 'shall not be infringed' has kept us from suffering the fates of other people whose governments disarmed them.


A few years ago, our neighbor to the north passed legislation for a mandatory gun buyback. That effort cost Canadian taxpayers an eye-watering $500 million, and now the Canadian government is spending more of the taxpayers' money to figure out why less than 10% of gun owners complied with their fascist gun grab:

The numbers are inflated by their policies. When it first started, they were only approving one change of address with guns on the ban list. If you moved more than once you had to surrender.
There are still situations that would have resulted in a simple sale that now result in surrendering such as a temporary move across the border. I’d bet the voluntary surrender rate is nearly zero.

That, my friend, is classic goalpost moving, and "we only take guns away from bad guys" is the rationale for gun grabs in every Western country. The Nazis simply didn't want the people who they were about to round up and send to the camps to be armed... just like in the Soviet Union
