There were 15 shootings in Edmonton in June, which represents a month-over-month increase, according to Edmonton police.
Police counted eight shootings in May and 11 in June 2024, according to a monthly data report from Edmonton Police Service on Thursday.
All but one of June’s shootings is believed to have been targeted. Ten out of the 14 resulted in injuries, and 10 had potential for innocent bystanders to be harmed.
A total of 71 shootings this year represents a 4.3-per cent increase over the 68 counted in the same time period last year.
“We will continue to address gun violence in our city through our guns and gangs strategy, which focuses on deterrence, investigative excellence and youth intervention,” said Staff Sgt. David Graham with the firearms investigation section.
Edmonton police seized 68 firearms in June, bringing the total for the year to 380, down from 419 at this time in 2024.

Looks like the hand gun ban is working as designed. Guns for the criminals but not for you. Dont even think about defending yourself as reckless gun play is just that reckless and nothing more.
Sohi and the council have to answer to the people. Why is this happening? This was never a thing in Edmonton until mmmmgration.
The mayor needs to resign as well as the entire city council
