'Keep your shoes on': Canada says it will align with U.S. on ending unpopular airport security measure

The TSA established this unpopular requirement shortly after a terrorist tried to detonate a liquid explosive in his shoe in 2006

Transport Canada says it will work with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration “to ensure to ensure (airport security) requirements are aligned.”
The department establishes regulations regarding security screening procedures for flights originating in Canada. It is aware of yesterday’s announcement by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that it will be lifting its “shoes-off” policy, says Hicham Ayoun, senior communications advisor Transport Canada’s media services.

I’ve basically quit traveling since covid, but once in a while I have to get on a plane for work. Now if they’d just ban jeet security screeners.
