How do I go about getting the people above me in my apartment evicted?

Ever since this pajeet family moved in above me, they've been banging non-stop every day. I can't figure out what they're doing. It sounds like they're trying to recreate some battle in the Mahabharata or something but I'm pretty sure they're Sikh so I dunno what epic battle they're recreating up there but it's not a recreation of some peaceful grove that's for sure. These apartments are tiny so there's no reason to be banging around non-stop in the apartment. You go to the fridge, get a drink, walk back to couch and that's it for an hour but it's literally non-stop bang bang bang bang bang bang bang. It sounds like they're building shit too with a hammer or something. They've got kid/s and the kid/s are always crying. I feel like they're probably beating the kid non-stop also. I thought maybe at first it was just them getting settled into a new place but we're like 3+ months into it now and it's non-stop bang bang bang bang. They can't sit still for 1 second and it's bang bang bang bang. The woman clearly stomps when she walks and she can't stop walking around her apartment. It also sounds like they're dropping shit all the time. I sometimes hear power tools going on for who knows what reason. I figured they're building a cage for their kid or something.

Anyway, if I call the property managers, I doubt anything will get done so I was thinking of calling Child Protective Services and just saying it sounds like they're doing a lot more than just disciplining the child and I fear for the child's safety. Anyone have any better suggestions on what I should do?

Make complaints to police. Complain to building management about it. Start documenting every time you hear a noise. Document who you spoke to and when.

Alternatively, recreate the jeetshaker.

As a long time renter, I have a strict "No Complaints" policy.

If you complain, they retaliate. It only escalates. If it's that bad, find a better place to live.

Never rent from or to Jeets, Asians, Muslims or third worlders. They are all cheap, have low quality of life standards, zero personal skills or boundaries. You can't trust your pets, children or belongings around them. It's just not worth it.

Lol do you live in Toronto?

Why don’t you try and befriend them its the exact opposite of what everyone wants you to do and the most effective when it comes to negotiating. We lived in a basement suite years ago and it was noisy, the upstairs tenants were assholes so befriending them was out of the question. We used that suffering as motivation to leave the city with a downpayment for somewhere smaller and bought our first house. That was 10 years ago, and my point is my friend, life is trying to tell you something, teach you a lesson in how to grow stronger so listen deeply and grow.

Sucks man. I have a fan and noise maker running constantly to drown out kitchen noises, not sure how much that would help your situation though. You can get a comfortable pair of noise cancelling headphones, just make sure they are flat enough to be able to sleep with. Some people have trouble with noise cancelling though.

The brown invasion fucks us over in so many ways.

I think you'll just have to move. Apartments typically don't give a shit. I'd complain and if the problem isn't solved (it won't be), I'd ask them to let me out of my lease early. They probably won't but I'd still ask. They also might offer to switch to a different unit and you can hope your neighbors are more respectful.

This is exactly why I look for detached units. I lived in an apartment above someone's garage for 6 years before moving into my current house a few years ago. The house I found is a one bedroom, two-story home that a couple built on their property for their daughter. She got married and moved out, and they put it up for rent and I snagged it.

It's so nice to not share walls with other people that I could never go back to apartment living unless I had no other choice.

So you get those jeets evicted. Then what do you suppose you will get above you after that?

If you live in Ontario there is no legal action that tenants can take against other tenants in regards to tenancy issues. You need to complain to your landlord and get them to submit an N5 form to the other tenants. Keep documenting the noise and contacting the landlord. After 3 or so of those forms the landlord will be able to file for an eviction hearing, you should be able to attend the hearing and give evidence. They are an uphill battle though so be prepared to have delays or even lose. But if you have a half decent landlord and complain to them every time - aka making it their problem too - they will be inclined to help you. If they are successful, ask about moving into the upper apartment for the same price.
