Anyone else remember when a proposed constitutional amendment in the US to formally define marriage as something that is exclusively between a man and a woman was mocked because "gays and lesbians don't want to get married"? It was only about 20 years ago, but that's practically an eternity to the goldfish brains who make up a large part of the public
