Elections Canada warned the Liberals to stop ballot exploitation; now, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s comeback race risks being hijacked by 200 protest ‘candidates.’

The Chief Electoral Officer warned the Liberals last year to amend the law and prevent ballot exploitation. However, the call went unanswered. Now, Elections Canada tells True North the concerns remain, and Poilievre’s upcoming by-election may see him fall victim again to ballot padding.

A protest group behind Canada’s longest-ever election ballots is now targeting the Alberta riding of Battle River–Crowfoot, aiming to run up to 200 candidates in the by-election Poilievre hopes will see him return to Parliament.

The left wins because the right can't organize. The right can't organized at the local level all the way to the international level. The canadian right organized once in recent memory and the libs at to, basically, declare martial law. That's how off guard they were caught. Any subsequent attempt has been feckless.

Um, ackshually I have morals and worked hard to get up on this horse so why do I need to lower myself and vote 'strategically' and go out and put effort into changing hearts and minds when I can blame 'fellow conservatives' for our failures after doing absolutely nothing to change anything? And actually working together and pushing back against what's happening is exactly what 'THEY' want us to do! CHECKMATE CUCKSERVATIVES

you can vote PPC and help pad Max's retirement saving. People are still scared to death of getting called names. Call me whatever I don't give a fuck. I will say on X people are pushing back on the BS now like mad.

@TOPDAWG: "I'll take a small win as to have a no win at all"

The only problem with this theory is that the Tories didn't get any kind of win in the recent election, whether small, medium-sized or large. Thanks to our first-past-the-post system, a miss is as good as a mile when it comes to a political party holding power -- so the Tories have no more real-world influence than the PPC does over future Liberal legislation
