If I were posting just on X, face crook, tic tok, anything I have to say would carry pretty much zero weight due to being out in a ocean of many... Maybe it matters not but I sense being in an slightly more important orbit/sphere of influencers here might mean more and carry a bit more weight... so yes I'm on X, one more board like this and here because I love Canadians and the province I live in Alberta especially. I believe planting the right seeds is all important, in the big picture. At minimum my aspiration would be at least I didn't march into the gas chamber, like many stooges did during WWII or during Stalins reign of horror, just hoping - maybe my not making a fuss will pay off while everyone around me doing the same fucking died! We can debate the numbers but full on holocaust deniers can just kiss my ass!
... It has been argued the world currently is in the midst of WWIII... how it is being fought compared to WWII is very different... I think that is likely right.
In WWII the people of Italy, Japan, Malta might well focus on their stuff and at certain points it was also big globally but looking back, while important there were ultimately two big forces that either won or lost... Canada rightly took a bow for its role assisting the Allies! I remain proud of it, knowing full well some history is how the victors write it... history will always be like that and always rightly debated.
Cdn's like any other participant will focus on their stuff as did say Malta... there is no fault in that. Occasionally though one has to say to such participants zoom out or you are missing the bigger, more important picture! Some are too narrow focused and can't.
Imagine it all as a big weight scale but the real weights are opaque and therefore just hard to objectively define for the record books... Player Z tilted the scale for the win cause they contributed 150 pounds and player Y lost cause they only had 100 pounds... Now player Z only had 150 pounds cause they had Malta weighing in for a brief period with 5 pounds and Canada weighing in with 10 pounds and so forth. When we are really a team who made up the 150 pounds ideally doesn't matter... In WWII and in WWIII all that fucking matters is we won cause the alternative is epically bad for all. The Canadian 10 pounds mattered and at time greatly and I choose to remain taking great pride in that! Bite me if you disagree.
So what am I trying to get at? As is always the case with the real complexities of people power - if we do not have enough people weigh in and can't be counted on, then in the case of WWII I surmise the Allies would not have won - I shutter to think of where we would be today!
It is not at all lost on us on this board - of all the very bad shit the leadership of some in the USA has done since WWII - what that "leadership" - those who are responsible, has done is not to be forgotten or forgiven! I would appreciate justice! Especially of the Bushes, Clintons, Odumma's, Bidon's and their willing and knowing hoards in so called leadership! Not at all unlike some Cdn. leaders have committed egregious offences at times to native Americans, to Japanese Canadians in WWII, to covid vax stab refusers, trucker convoy participants, etc. , etc. Such is history albeit to some degree I despise the forgive and forget mantra because evil parties count on that, to offend yet again and again. History has also shown in spades we must root them out! We must minimize or even if possible eliminate their ability to regroup and try again!
Again I do not minimize the rot and unforgivable corruption of the Lyndon B Johnsons, Bushes, Clintons, Odumma's, Bidon's - no I wish to my core to see it finally face real justice!
As a practical person, I so wish Canada had the weight now to go it on our own and withstand the global evil cabal that has gained a scary weight not seen since WWII! But sorry I do not see us as anything but a feather weight against another global evil cabal that has sadly re-attained a super heavy weight status not unlike what came all too close to winning WWII.
The USA for all its many flaws and sins including those perceived of President Trump (some of which I'll agree with) remains all that is left standing (IMHO) with the most incredible Constitution ever written, a still operating Republic (albeit severely weakened), a military able to ably fight the global chyna cabal, Russia (who I perceive mostly want to once again join the Allies) and what have you.
