Ontario’s top court has ruled the province must cover the cost of an out-of-country, penis-sparing vaginoplasty for a “transgender and non-binary resident” who wishes to have both female and male genitalia.

In a unanimous decision released this week, a three-judge panel of the Ontario Court of Appeal confirmed a lower court’s ruling ordering the Ontario Health Insurance Plan to pay for the patient, identified as K.S. in court records, to undergo the novel phallus-sparing surgery at a Texas clinic.

If I ever need a life saving surgery, I hope it's "penis-sparing" as well.
 
I'm just waiting for penises to be added to organ transplant lists so they cut your dick off mere seconds after your die from MAID only to ship it in the same box they ship your kidneys and liver to someone who got vaccinated.

Yeah, this is OLD news (maybe the Texas part is new though) but this is frankly beyond the pale, if I was Dougie I would just say that because of this ruling OHIP will no longer cover any gender surgery, and if the judges say "Nuh-uh, you gotta!" then I'd simply announce that the Ontario government will be dissolving OHIP, what you gonna do then judge?
