Discussion Clean up on the tags for posts?

Hey y'all mods and admin team. I find there are too many irrelevant or duplicate tags for posts. I like using the tags but it's a pain in the ass to scroll through them all to find one that fits the post. I wouldn't mind fixing it myself if everyone is too busy to work on something minor like this.

I assume you're talking about prefixes/flairs for new threads? If so, there's stuff that's old like this.

I'm sure it was great in 2021.

Ya, that's the stuff. Just counted, its 124 flairs. I bet we could whittle it down to 30-40 general tags.

I agree. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if a staff member comments. Then I'll offer a full list.

I have forwarded this to @The Conservationist . He is the mod who does all of the flairs.

We could stand to lose a few of the unimportant ones. There are quite a lot and it does get difficult to navigate through the list.

Sure, improving the thread flairs has been on my forum-to-do-list lately

Maybe we'll do something like what we did for the 'reacts', where there will be a default listing of say 30-40 thread flairs, and each member can select other available ones in their account settings.

It'll be what I like to call 'reloading'. You're on the forum firing off your reactions, you come across a post that needs that unique reaction and you need to eject the magazine that you got and reload the new magazine with the new reaction round to keep firing.

Of course, one will use flairs less than reactions so the reloading should be less.
