Matrix games seems to be the only one producing this type of game. They do Panzer Corps and Close Combat series as well. Looks like they're working on a Panzer Corps 2 as well
 
There's an obscure story about Ramesses II, about how he would reincarnate in the future so that he can contest Zion the throne of the Earth with the Lord God. He's to start a great battle that'll draw in all of humanity, all nations fighting each other to the death. All so that Ramesses can draw out the Lord God creator of the universe and fight him directly. The Jews call this Tohuvabohu. The Christians call this Armageddon. Ramesses is to be the ultimate warrior, nothing will survive his wrath, all shall die in honor by his working. Even the Earth laid waste. He does this to bring about the reincarnation of his wife, the beautiful Nefertari. The love between them being so powerful as to then regenerate the wasted Earth. When the two of them are together, all people of all history will then be resurrected and live together in Paradise, on a beautifully restored planet here. Man will have finally conquered God. My friends! we have this coming story to look forward to in the very near future!
