Many Canadians are finding themselves straddling the same shaky ground, holding onto their jobs while watching a growing number of people around them get laid off – a situation that brings distinct challenges and financial-planning hurdles. Nearly 40 per cent of Canadians say they fear job loss in their household, according to the quarterly MNP Consumer Debt Index published Monday – up about two percentage points from late 2025. It was one of few indicators that worsened across the index, which measures Canadians’ attitudes toward their debt and ability to pay their bills and stayed relatively flat over all compared with last quarter.
Did this get mentioned at the big Liberal elbows up party?

no my friand unless Libtards call for an election you will have them to 2030 elections can be every 5 years. they're sitting pretty right now unless the floor crossing retards give carney issues or he starts to hate his current MP's and they don't do what they're told. look for more floor crossing too. I'm sure we will have some type of national emergency if needed by then.

If an election isn’t called early in Canada:

The term lasts up to 5 years (maximum) under the Constitution.

However, under modern rules (fixed election dates):

Elections are scheduled every 4 years, so that’s the normal length.

So:

  • Planned/normal term: 4 years
  • Absolute maximum if nothing triggers an early election: 5 years

After that 5-year limit, an election must happen—no extensions unless there’s an extreme situation like a national emergency.

If you want, I can explain what usually causes early elections (it happens pretty often).
