Trump Officials Held Meetings With Prominent Albertan Group Seeking To Secede

Not a good idea. Those who support the Alberta independence movement and the people who want Canada (or a particular region of it) to become the 51st state are not necessarily the same. This just gives left-wing zombies ammunition when they try to pretend that all pro-independence people are "OMG MAGAT TRAITORS"
 
Anyone who wants Alberta independence but doesn't want to become a US State is not a serious person.
 
@TOPDAWG yes, from your perspective that would be nice. If I was still living in Alberta and Alberta became a US State, my income would double and be paid in USD. My quality of life would go WAY up. If Alberta left Canada with all the fruity boomer leftists who sting cling into their social programs and bloated bureaucracy and mah Nice Canadian values, my QoL would hardly go up at all. BC and Canada would spite Alberta and the USA would exploit Alberta's position to empower themselves all on Alberta's dime for "independence". Becoming 100% independent would be a fail to Alberta. You'd see a EU to Brexit situation in how Canada treated Alberta going forward and the USA aren't your friends. Becoming a State actually gives Alberta significant power compared to wholly independent which would allow Albertans to flourish instead of being taken to the cleaners by the rest of Canada and the Americans. Purest Alberta sovereign people who want Alberta to be its own country are a bunch of naive sheep being goaded by wolves.
