What did Australia get in return for this open borders deal? A smart country would have negotiated for something incredibly valuable, like gold or mining rights, to balance out the drain on the economy. Oh right, the leaders don't see it that way, they think they are getting skilled, productive, workers who hold western values like honesty, fairness, etc.
