All my posting text toolbar options are greyed out

Using Brave browser on Android.

Just updated Brave to the latest edition, didn't fix the problem.

For the last week or so at least, all of my text toolbar options are greyed out and can't be used.

Can't make text bold, can't add links, can't add quotation text, etc.

I don't use the features frequently, but they definitely were functional in the past.

This has come up a few times in the past few months.

Are you on laptop, mobile, or tablet?

For someone else who had this happen, they had it happen on multiple different devices.

They were on "Edge", Brave and two Samsung devices/browsers on mobile (but fine on laptop/desktop).

They got it working on one device by uninstalling Brave and reinstalling.
I don't think that much would actually be required though (see below).

They ended up getting it working by deleting browser data/caches on all of their mobile browsers, for all devices.

Before trying this, if you do not remember your password, please send a DM, and I'll set a temporary one for you, in case it logs you out when you clear the data.

(If this doesn't work, I have a few other ideas of how to try to debug it).

I access FCW exclusively from a Samsung tablet with Brave.

Maybe I'll try to see if the same thing happens with Chrome.

I really like Brave and I'd hate to give it up.

Just tested it in Chrome on the same device and the toolbar works fine.

Seems like a problem specific to Brave.

I'll probably just keep using Brave for the time being and hope it gets fixed with an update at some point.

Glad it's working on one browser.

Did you try clearing your caches on Brave?
That might fix it.

What I've found if a website works with a certain browser but not a different one it can be the security settings are too tight on the failing to connect browser. With the upgrade it may have defaulted or changed the settings. So you could try easing the security settings on brave one small bit at a time and then connect.

The toolbar breaking happened again after an Android update.

Clearing cookies and updating Brave seemed to fix it.
