Where do the homeless / druggies come from?

I might be sheltered (I am upper middle class, always have been) but I've never known somebody who became homeless, or became an addict, in my 45 years.

And yet, these people are everywhere. Every city I've been to across Canada, there's dozens or hundreds of homeless people, most of them seem to be on drugs, most (not all) seem to be white.

Where is this endless supply of hobos coming from? I am honestly bamboozled and curious. I have no idea at all where they come from or how they become this way, but I'm trying to understand the problem. It's hard to understand something when you have no first hand experience. Clearly the leftists in charge of the cities don't care.

Can anybody chime in?

I find it venomously ironic to consider the virtue signalling of Canada is built on the proceeds of Chinese fentanyl sold to working class whites, which then gets laundered into the housing industry to dispossess our people of even property to own. And of course now the chief industry of Canada is tradesmen building these houses, which are bought off the proceeds of fentanyl overdoses. That's like Soylent green with needles
 
For a lot of these people, it's a choice. Our government system literally encourages people to become homeless druggies.

Have you tried to buy alcohol? See how expensive it is? Black market drugs are cheaper than alcohol.

Have you tried to get a job in Canada recently? Some people have been looking for 6+ months and haven't found anything.

Have you seen how much things costs and how much people pay in taxes?

Have you ever wondered how guys making like $50k/yr are surviving? A lot of them have side hussles selling drugs or pumping out girls. Or, they have parental support.

What ends up happening is you get people whose choice in life is share rent for 6 people you hate to work at McDonald's making shit wages, still paying taxes to a government you hate albeit lower, what supervisors you hate and schedules you hate all the while never getting ahead. Why do that? So people turn to drugs to cope and eventually they get fired from the McDonald's job cause they're calling in sick from the drugs too much and not able to hold the job down. They still need a way to make money so they start trying to sell drugs and do whatever side hussles they can: prostitution, theft, whatever. They they learn to start abusing all the "help" programs to sustain themselves. It spirals from there. Before long, they actually prefer the lifestyle of a homeless bum doing drugs than the lifestyle of a McDonald's employee.

Even guys who seemed to be doing good in life can quickly spiral out of control if they don't get a job and have no parental support.

There's other situations too like guys getting into divorces, losing all their stuff and still owing money to their exes. They end up trying to make money without the money being official so they can skirt government orders on their income then end up in prison and it spirals from there.

I know a guy who had a good job but wasn't making much money. He started selling drugs to get laid by women druggies (which worked) cause he couldn't find success with women any other way and his day job didn't pay enough. He got thrown in prison. Now he can't get a job doing what he was doing before because of his criminal record. The only reason he's not a bum on the street is because his family are super wealthy so they bought him a house and gave him a job working for the family business. Without this sort of support, it's so easy to get fucked.

The reality is that our system in every aspect encourages these people. We incentivize it even.

We need to lower taxes, cut all social programs, decriminalize drugs and DUIs (DUIs really fuck people over in society to the point it can spiral also). We need to stop bringing in immigrants and we need to stop propping up housing values. We're strangling workers in this society to the point that they're becoming homeless drug users.
 
Some, but not all, homeless people are homeless because they have literally burnt every bridge and snapped every olive branch that was extended to them. When people say homelessness is a choice, these people have chosen to be complete degenerate assholes to everyone that ever gave them a chance.

Another source is or cause of homelessness is the drug induced schizophrenia. They have chemically fried their brains to the point that they are incapable of re joining society.
 
As much I want to hate on homeless entirely, you have to remember we live in a Soviet Style Communist regime. It's not nearly as bad, sure, but things can turn FAST. The people you think some guy on the street burnt the bridge with likely only offered it on their terms and those terms could have been justifiably rebuffed.

I've seen it first hand where the worst people get the best opportunities and some of the highest quality people get destroyed. Take the recent BC Conservative leader stepping down. Now, she's going to be alright in the end but she was forced to step-down because people in her party (think employer) wanted to destroy her for what she represented. Throw in DEI to the mix, our gynocracy along with several other issues and you get a situation where a truly good person is oppressed in Canada because he's a good person. Many of the worst people I've ever met in Canada are people with power, authority and wealth. These people promote their own kind and never extend olive branches to those who won't bow down to them.

Many homeless people are just people who weren't willing to bend the knee and "play-the-game". Sometimes they do for as long as they can and then have the rug pulled out from under them when they can't "fake it" any longer.

The reality is that Canada is a poorly designed society that rewards some of the biggest losers while doing all it can to attack and oppress its better people. Sometimes those better people lose-out to the cabal of inferiors end up homeless as well.

I've seen how fast a false rape accusation can ruin a guy. I know an executive of a company who got fired because he slept with a fellow employee. It should have been harmless because he wasn't her direct report or anything but the company is full of puritans and she bragged and he got fired. He still hasn't found a job. How big do you think his mortgage was? His car payment? You think with his resume, McDonalds will hire him. Things can spiral quickly. Imagine if he had a wife who now divorced him. Sure, perhaps he deserved something then but he definitely doesn't deserve to have his entire life ruined in the way it was. Remember that HR Exec who was at some Sports Event with the CEO in clearly a "close" relationship or something and they were both cheating? I heard the woman hasn't found a job yet. I'm sure she'll be fine because she's a woman but these are the sorts of things that can ruin people. Then, in the depression of the consequences that transpired, throw in some meth or crack to the mix and GL HF GG. But the reality is that our puritan society shouldn't be ruining people over such worthless transgressions.

I read an interesting comment today on X. Someone said that society (speaking of the USA) feels like Ayn Rand's novel: "We the Living", where she describes how maintaining a job under the USSR regime felt like a humiliation ritual with increasingly pointless degradation people had to put themselves through. I haven't read the book but I ordered it. Canada is already like this and it's getting worse. A homeless guy might just be a guy who couldn't keep his head down, say yes, and carry-on under the regime. He ended up saying something against the regime and it cost him his job. I'll never forgot when at RBC I was asked to do an "anonymous" survey about DEI and Minority Oppression. In the survey, they mentioned how non-Whites are more obese than White people because of White Colonialism and they had an "open comment" box regarding this and I listed facts proving this to be not true. Then, a week later, I got included on a random internal "make the program better" class where they kept grilling us on what issues we had with the survey as if they were trying to get me to associate my name with a similar view so they could have me fired. I said not a single word with this "random" class because it entirely looked like a setup to me. This is the kind of rituals people in Canada are put through and if you fuck up, that's it. There was a guy on here who posted on some of the largest companies in Canada were keeping a blacklist of people deemed against the regime that CSIS was involved in who these companies aren't allowed to hire. You get on that list and bam, you're now a homeless person even though you did nothing wrong.

I was a homeless youth. My mother remarried when I was 13 and both her and her husband made it quite clear I was a step child to be done away with the moment I turned 18. Didn't stop them from chasing me out of the house by 16. I am going to go ahead and quote my mom here "when do I get to have my life"

My mom is a proud feminist and always votes liberal. I was an only child yet to hear her speak she never shut the fuck up about the virtues of abortion.

I could carry on about the nonsense that cow and her husband put me though (he spent an entire career as a school teacher in Toronto and still writes letters to the editor of the KW record in support of the LPC and the OLP)

Suffice to say when you look at the homeless especially the younger ones there is a population only there because of boomer and boomeresque parents who never wanted to have kids in the first place.

I have three kids of my own and make it quite clear to them that abortionist and liberals all deserve death by torture.

Lots of the homeless only wound up high and crazy after being homeless because that shit sucks. Worst thing any person experiencing homelessness can do is to associate with the other homeless because you will become of them.

Lots of schizo addict homeless sure but just as many victims of the family court system and liberal social values.

Everytime you see someone homeless and high you should punch your nearest liberal in the teeth.
 
@Trudeaus coke dealer exactly. I know these parent types you describe well too. Some young recent graduate maybe got fired from his job because he refused the vaccine. His parents would then disown him instead of supporting him. He doesn't know what to do, wanders around, meets some homeless guy, does drugs and voila, another homeless person. What was the real catalyst? His choices or his terrible parents and their lack of support?

Boomers are without a doubt the number one problem our country has ever faced and every issue ties back to their piss poor management of this country and the people in it.
 
@CaptainTrouble Why should I care about you when there are starving African children in the world is what was said to me repeatedly. Turns out they never fed any of those kids either it's just a convenient thing for a narcissist to say so they can appear virtuous for being deadbeats.

I would have been better off being left with my father who at the time was a drug dealer and I am not talking dime bags here I mean duffle bags of whatever the hell you want and guns in every room of the house.

Imagine a woman who would throw it in her child's face that his father pays no child support at all. Shows him statements and plays automated recordings for him.

Imagine that woman telling you whenever that loser pays I will give you half. That same woman gets paid and goes to the bar buying shots for all. She quietly stopped bringing it up after that.

I don't pay her because she is a selfish whore who will piss it away on liquor while you go without dinner don't believe me just watch was what he said to me when I confronted him about it.

That woman took 6 years just to get a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. Her excuse was that being a single mother is just so hard so it took me longer, still never shuts up about her degree and her education. She was never employed in that time frame we simply survived off a welfare check and whatever she could mooch off her latest boyfriend.

I go on this tangent because I used to think I just had an insane mother. Turns out she isn't unique at all and is pretty much just a standard Canadian woman.

She was still trying to sue that man for child support even when I lived damn near a thousand miles from either of them, had a job my own apartment and a girlfriend, lived in Calgary while he was working somewhere in northern BC and she lived in Kitchener. You would think forging documents and signatures would get you in legal trouble but not if you are a woman I guess.

According to her my at the time 22 year old ass was mentally retarded and needed lifelong care, wasn't even on speaking terms with her at the time.

Spent her entire life at war with reality and is a proud liberal feminist. Always the victim no matter how shitty her behaviour.

You go and Google who the average voter is in Canada and it describes her. How does one fix that by voting?
 
@border_humper: I feel almost bad bringing this up because @Trudeaus coke dealer's mom is a far worse case, but both my mother and mother-in-law are snarky and frequently self-centred people who love to praise themselves endlessly. I've seen the same thing among men of the same generation, though, so I have to wonder what happened back in the 1960s to make so many of them like that
